Have had my Mk4 for 18 months and taken mileage from 99k to 125k - now using as motorway commuter for my 150 mile daily round trip to work. Only thing I don't like about the car is the inevitable lack of connectivity for phone given that smartphones didn't exist in 2000 when my Golf was built.
Are there any good but reasonably priced solutions to enable me to play the music on my phone through the stereo and make/receive calls also?
Thanks,
p.s. my head unit is the one with radio/cassette/single cd

Yes - replace the headunit for one with bluetooth streaming.

Defo replace headunit.. first things i do on the mk4.. the gamma units are so crap.
Get a nice double din..most them have usb ports and aux ports so you can either use a micro usb ..which is what i do.. or you can just connect your phone through aux lead
Looks better too
