I have a set of Monza 18's from a mk5 that i am going to use for winter tyres. They are riddled with the white worm and will get done at lepsons but i was struggling to choose colour to go with my Deep Black ed35. Car has Glendales currently so was thinking going for gloss black but not sure they will look any good for more than a few minutes this winter. I do love the standard Monza finish but its an expensive refurb and these are going to be winter wonders so full on laquered isnt really appropriate.
Anyone any pics of Gloss Black, flat black, Anthracite or similar on a Black Mk6?

Plasti Dip in black and then coat in glossifier, all for wheels for around £100. done .....
Or plasti dip in black and use Gold Metalizer, looks amazing check link below:

Plasti Dip is mint, so easy to use and remove. I think a heavy curbing session would be a bit worse for the wheels

Plasti Dip is cheap and nasty, so easy to use and remove. I think a heavy curbing session would be a bit worse for the wheels
sorted that for you

OP - what about silver with graphite highlights?
It's a tough one as one single colour looks  IMO
-
Shadow crome like redrobins.
-
Went for dark anthracite in the end. Happy with that for the winter set. At least it will hide the brake dust
-
Gotta be anthracite
-
I'm having the same problem. Just cant decide what colour would look good against my silver?

Anthracite will look great against silver.

Yeh very tempting, although makes me tempted to get the VWR alloys rather than get the monza's refurbs

They look sweet. Where did you get them done.
-
I bought them 4 years ago off a lad on the mk5golfgti forum as I originally ran them on my ed30, he had them done somewhere near Edinburgh I believe, have to say they did a great job as they still look like new after a lot of winter miles

That looks like what i went for, just waiting for the Nokians to turn up, will post pics when its all done and "winterized"
-
Would you say that is a dark anthracite.
Am sat looking at the anthracite options lepsons offer and cant decide between the medium or the dark. Damn silver is hard to pick a colour for.
-
I'll pop up a closer pic of them when on my ed30 if it helps nail the colour shade?

^^Done mate

Dark anthracite is nice, but I prefer medium. A bit more subtle IMO.
-
Its so hard to gauge cause I've got to send them off and pick a colour Ive only seen pictures of on the internet, not on any car especially a silver like mine. Then hope I've picked right and they go well with my car.
-
Rims back from lepsons, not fitted yet but I like the colour. may get them on the car tomorrow.

Which anthracite colour. Also some black on there or just the light? More pics :-)
Thx
-
dark anthracite, its pretty dark which i like as i was gonna go black at first.
Another pic and then one with them on the car but the light was going by the time i got them on. Running Nokian WR for the "winter" although its been a pretty mild 10 degress all day and i was out there in a T shirt changing them over

They look pretty damm fine on a black gti
-
Yeah I really like that too. What did it set you back per wheel? And did they need refurbing as well as painting?
-
They were riddled with the white worm.
