Not sure on spec of original GTD but whats yours drive like as have seen one for sale and wondered what they were like i.e has it got Pas and does it pull ok any major probs ...
-
they r perfect 2 drive. the steering is a little heavy as it dont have power steering but the acceleration is amazing! it pulls away like a rocket. it has mountains of torque and when the turbo kiks in it flies
if the 1 for sale is in good condition i would deffinately buy it!

i have a 1991 white gtd. only got it a month back but i am impressed speced at 80 bhp standard is all i know about it. mine has power steering as well iv had them without but im gald to have it on this one

the gtd was based on the driver range. so tinted green glass, wheel arch trims, checked grey interior, 14 inch gti steels
pas was an option,
have an original dealer brouchure for the car. and we have had three of them one a right shed rotten and the other two low owner cars and really are a nice car to drive.
quite a rare car too as only did the GTD from H plate just a shame they didnt do a three door version in the UK.
have fitted a gtd engine to our Mk2 van though

There is a white gtd for sale in my street. Seems ok nick too, a bit noisey though. Based in North East if anyone is interested.

I got a Golf C Diesel not GTD and it's on a B reg but it's a lovely car to drive, loads of torque and pulls like a rocket! Great cars!

I think even the late GTDs were only available with small bumpers, not the post-90 big bumpers found on GTIs. but maybe the big bumpers were available as an option as I think the case was with the Mk2 GL.
