Hi Guys - sorry if I've missed a thread somewhere but just wondering if these lads will fit my 1991 mk2 Ryder 1.6:
Rim Width: 7J
Rim Diameter: 15
Offset: et26
4x100 pcd
Center Bore: 57mm
Tyres on 'em: 195/55/15
Pretty sure they will fit based on my Internet research but hoping for clarification from someone who knows what they're on about!
Cheers

I had some 7j et20 or 25, don't remember, and they didn't really fit, although there was a fair drop on the car at the time. There is a tool somewhere that let's you compare clearance between wheels. I'll see if I can find it.
Edit: http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator#Results - brilliant tool.

Hi Guys - sorry if I've missed a thread somewhere
just a few threads missed, narrow ya search down to the mk2 section only
but just wondering if these lads will fit my 1991 mk2 Ryder 1.6:
Rim Width: 7J yep - fine
Rim Diameter: 15 yep - fine
Offset: et26 yep - fine
4x100 pcd yep - fine
Center Bore: 57mm yep - i presume you mean 57.1mm ?
Tyres on 'em: 195/55/15 standard are 195/50 15s, so they will be a tad balloon like in the sidewall department and dependant on how low you are might give you some scrubbage -
they will also throw your speedo out.
Cheers

Brilliant cheers guys - picking 'em up later this week. Will throw a pic up when i get them on...

A quick one, just seen on this website:
http://www.wheelfitment.net/vw
It's saying a Golf mk2 4 stud should have an offset of between 35 and 40. With these being a 26 offset is this going to pose me any problems?
-
Hi, i had some 7j et24 15's with 195/50/15 tyres on my gti which is lowered roughly 30mm and with my 2 kids (both 8yrs) in the back it would scrub, on my own it was ok most of the time. If your cars standard ride height or you have no family or friends you should be ok. But if its lowered and with 55 profile i think you'll get lots of scrubbing.
-
Thanks for the input - I may need to look into changing the tyres to a 45 profile quicker than i had thought. Luckily I haven't yet lowered so i'll have to coincide buying coilovers with buying new tyres!

Hi guys I have been looking at some rims for a while now but they are 7" et42 15"? So would they not fit? My car sits very low as well.
Any help would be great.

You should be fine with those McWill (from what I've been reading). The mk2 recommended offset is 35-40 so you're gonna be well within the wheel arch. Only thing thing to make sure is will the disc etc all fit inside which should be fine on a 15"

problem is they could be TOO FAR inside the arch :lipsrsealed:
and rubb against the struts, and even the inner arch. :lipsrsealed:
only one real way to find out.

Can always use spacers if needed, as chuff says; one way to find out
-
Stick a spacer on it if need be
-
Thanks for the replys, also seen another set of rims with et25, so am I rite in thinking that the et42s would catch on the inner arches and the et25s would catch the outer arches? So witch would be the better of the two? If I had to use wheel spacers on the et42s then would they aso not catch the out arches? Sorry all the questions

I've just fitted et26s and they fit perfectly... With no drop. I think when I come to lower I will struggle to go further than -40mm so it all depends what u want. You would space the 42s so they sit just where u want them so, everything else being equal, they are your best bet I'd imagine
-
One way to look at it is if you need to add spacers you can. If it's scraping badly on the outer arch then it's a much bigger job or impossible to get them to fit.
-
The car is lowered 60mm on the back and 50mm on the front so not sure the et25's would be a good call. Although I am getting the arches rolled.
