Title: CAE ultra shifter question
Post by: Mk1golfnoob on 01 December 2013, 19:00
Hi guys, just pricing up things for my mk1 gti overhaul, I'm going to be converting it to a 1.8 20vt and want to be going for a sort of road going track car look with just 2 front seats but fully trimmed with carpet through out. Just looking at tasty looking shifters and am thinking of going for a CAE ultra shifter but it strictly states on there website that they are not permitted on public roads ? Is this by law or just there advice ? And is anyone running one of them ?

Sounds like they don't have TUV or public liability insurance and are arse-covering.

So the shifter will work fine for every day traffic and commuting would you say ?
Wouldit pass an MOT do you think ?

MOT isn't interested in your shifter.  It'll be fine.

Complete overkill on a road car, unless you're building a Berg cup type of car, and have thousands in budget to back up the rest of the car with similar goodies
