I am running new meyle mounts which should be good enough for years and years (uprated mounts can cause vibration issues!) and hockey pucks are only needed if sump clearance is poor (and they still need decent condition mounts!)

My sump is ok only due to that bracket between engine and gearbox taking the hits
Do powerflex do anything and is there a brand NOT to buy.

I've got vibra technics on the m3 and still rubber mounted but have a billet  alloy casing to stop the rubber compressing. Engine vibration is slightly increased but totally transforms the feel of the car, might be different for a golf but thats what I recommend.

I had Vibratechnics on my mk2 16v yonks ago, they made a huge and impressive difference. Shame they're so f**king expensive.

Could probably do with some new mounts for my new engine!
