Title: Aum coil packs
Post by: Chambo on 30 November 2013, 14:34
Hi all I have not long bought another mk4 1.8t and in the boot were a couple of coilpacks, they look very clean almost new my question is is there a way to check them to see if there any good?
Under Normal driving the car is spot on but when booting it there are flat spots which I know could be a few things but want check coils first.thanks

plug them in and see if they work but vw had a recall on the coils on these so maybe some never knew and replaced 2 before you bought the car

That's what I thought Barry as I knew about the recall but in the history paperwork the car has had packs changed on a few occasions but not by VW so will give them a bell and see what they say, just plug them in then and I'll know if there good or not?thanks for your reply barry
