my car is audi 80 1974 i have put in it 2E engine put with audi gearbox yasterday i was runing in open street no proplem in the first four gears but in the fifth gear the Rpm don't wanna move more 4400 Rpm so wha's the proplem
my gear ratio is
firstgear: 3.455
sec gear: 1.789
third gear: 1.133
fourth gear: 0.829
fifth gear: 0.684
final drive: 4.111
and my exhaust is 1.75 inche in know it's not for 2E engine put i will change it later does it make the proplem or the proplem from the gearbox ratio or what ?

You are a numb nut.
-
1.75 inch exhaust?
Well...remove the exhaust and see if it's any better. Also, those gears are a bit too long.
-
What you have done is restricted the engine by fitting that exhaust.
-
As posted the exhaust will be holding it back a lot

today i found that the fuel pump sound is very loud but the car acceleration is very good my car go from 0-100km in 8sec the first three gears the acceleration is very good in the fourth gear the Rpm start to be very slow in the fifth gear it stoped @4400Rpm @170km my fuel pump not in the tank it's out behind the engine is it make proplem or the proplem from the gearbox or the exhaust can make that or what !!!!!!!!!! my fuel type is 92

Could be all 3 so start with the cheapest fix. The exhaust.
-
nothing wrong with that gearing I would say. but you would need at least a 2" exhaust on a 2 litre engine. 2.25" even better in case of future mods.
