After jacking the car up today the jack slipped out from under the car (think because the garage im using has a highly polished floor) as it slid in slow motion I watched as it made a grove in the black plastic side skirt anyone know how much it cost for a new one and are they easy to fit?

According to ETKA it is £105.43 + VAT (5K0 853 855 F 9B9 Left Side)(5K0 853 856 F 9B9 Right Side)

Its a lot of money for a bit of plastic even tho I knew it wasn't gonna be cheap.
Thanks for the help, do you know how easy it is to swop over?
-
I'd look at it as an opportunity to change to Bluemotion/ED35/.:R ones.
-
I cant work out if I like the R side skirts or not, having a look at old threats they seem to cost £484 each plus spraying that's getting very expensive!

Here is a pdf of the removal
Removing Side Trim (http://www.thewindinglane.co.uk/images/mk6gti/misc/sideTrim.pdf)

Thanks for the PDF, seem pretty easy to remove.
Been looking at carbon fibre parts, if I decide to go for the R style skirts found a set, rear insert panel, front lip and skirts all in bout a 1k

Looks like an excuse to get them painted

That's a nice looking GTI, just read your spec and I speced a wish list last night was a pretty penny nearly as much as I paid for my car!
-
Thanks bud
Yes the price of the mods soon add up, took me 3 years to get to that spec,
It is an option to paint the side skirts, diffuser, front lip, makes s big difference and cheaper than the carbon option
-
At the moment im thinking to just buy a replacement one side and keep standard its gonna be the cheapest option and tbh I like the standard skirts.
When you say paint all 3 bits do you standard parts and just paint them black or white?
-
When he says paint (shoot me down) they will have more than likely been sanded down to de texture them then primed paint lacquered etc getting mine done soon but not front lip sides an diffuser if i was you i'd get on ebay and check breakers for one i would not be paying £100+ for tht!
