Title: porting exhaust manifold ko3s?
Post by: davemk4 on 29 November 2013, 14:52
In prep for stage 2 power which im trying to get most bhp as possible. I will be replacing the actuator with a forge one. Whilemanifold off thinking of porting the manifold (in fact ill prob pick up a used one to port ready then swap them over. ) is this a good job to do DIY? Any one done it with good results?

Not fitted mine yet, I'm going to change the turbo and manifold at the same time, got the car booked in for the remap so I'll do it shortly before the remap

Most of the material was removed from the collector

Carbide bit made light work of the porting of the collector

Ideally you should open up the main restrictions but not remove any grooves/channels inside that help to channel airflow. Same applies with the collector, there's a lot that can be removed there, if in doubt check the thickness of different areas before going at it.
