Title: Lucky....
Post by: Rhyso on 23 August 2005, 17:02
for a change anyhoo!!!

Just picked my car up from the garage after having the cam belt & tensioner done. Bloke showed me the state of the previous items.

Cam belt was ok but was slowly being eaten by the tensioner!!!  Few hundred miles or so and bang - bent valves, knackered car!!!

Nice to be lucky for a change!!! Normally things go wrong BEFORE i get round to sorting them!!!   :embarassed:

I know; my car has cost me loads in the 15 months I've had it.

Practically every part has been replaced!! Done my bank balance no favours whatsoever!!!  If the engine had gone I'd don't think I could have put up with it

Its certainly something I'll be paying more attention to in the future!!  When I had the car last year it had next to no service history but my dad's mate had been servicing it so didn't think anything of it.  Let's just say I won't trust what he says!!

It would have been cheaper to build a new car with the amount of work I've had done to it!!
