To date, we have heard of problems right across the spectrum of possible concerns.
Given the sheer number and complexity of systems on these vehicles, I doubt that the"Mean Time Between Failures" coefficient will impress.

Where's Bill when you need him. We could be doing with some sort of statistical analysis or pie chart of common issues.

Sadly VW are forced to throw out as many cars as possible in as short time schedule as possible and quality has taken a big hit as a consequence. Saab used to be well known for making bullet-proof cars and look where it landed them.
I think we can expect to see a recall of the front suspension mounts as most peoples seem to have been carnaged by the transporter blocks, apart from that though I would say many other issues are quite rare.

Mine was one of the first and has been perfect, not a single call to my dealer or VW UK.
Anyone else??

There wont be any recalls as vw dont admit to making a mistake they will be fixed under the table during a service bulletin and probably only if a customer complains otherwise it will be ignored. Its vw policy of denial of them making, designing or building, supply anything wrong!

I don't believe that there is a proven link between the transportation pucks and damage to the suspension mounts and I don't think there ever will be. Many cars have these or similar devices to protect the cars during transportation and do not suffer issues with the front suspension.
From the comments on here, it sounds like there is an issue with the bearings in the top mount on the strut, I don't see how the pucks could cause any short term damage to these bearings. It sounds like the bearings not properly lubricated or have some contamination.
It is more likely a bad batch of struts (I hope) or a general issue with the design and/or construction of the struts... which will have come from a supplier external to VW...

So far had my GTI for two weeks , missing right wing GTI badge and today air bag error messages are constantly up fortunately it's in with vw tomorrow to fit the missing badge so they can have a look at the error too, there's also a minor squeak on the front right suspension , but I'll monitor that one for a while longer.
