Title: Rear wiper connections
Post by: philstar on 24 November 2013, 14:31: I have just purchased a 1989 16v GTi and the rear wiper doesnt work. Having looked into it, I only have a single outlet on my washer bottle pump, and underneath the header tank there seems to be another multi-connector and a very thin hose that aren't connected to anything.

So my question is, how should my rear wiper be connected? Should it run off the washer bottle using a twin outlet pump or is there a separate reservoir and pump for the rear wiper? What is the connector and thin pipe meant for?

Post by: Ben@VWH on 25 November 2013, 09:39: Sounds like you need a twin outlet washer pump and to connect the loose pipe you have to the extra port on the new pump.

This does require a very minor bit of wiring as the connector is different.
