Title: are these bosch plugs interchangeable??
Post by: sps on 24 November 2013, 09:22
the car is an early 2002 vw golf 1.6 16v with the AZD engine code.

the original vw spark plugs which are fitted to the car ar double platinums and made for vw by bosch -the bosch part number is F7 HPP 222 U.

would it be ok to fit the following bosch plug which according to the bosch website should fit my car -bosch spark plug-FR 7 HPP 33+.which is a double platinum as well.?

the differences are the later plug(FR 7 HPP 33+.) has a fatter central electrode than the former one.(F 7 HPP 222 U)

also the later has a 6ohm interference suppressor/burn off resistor whereas the former one has 1ohm interference suppressor/burn off resistor.
