Ok, this isn't a boring "what brand should I use" question, I've decided that much already!
What I'm after is a bit more info... I'm going to replace the springs and shocks on my GTI but also wondering if I should replace the top mounts (both front and rear) at the same time with brand new OEM bits (from the likes of GSF) to ensure everything fits nice and tightly.
Also, are there any particular set of bushes that are worth changing while I have the shocks and springs off the car? I plan to eventually replace all of them with the Superpro kit for the whole car but if there's some that'll make a huge difference now I may spend the extra £50 or so.

Replace the top mounts for sure...it's pointless not doing. They are cheap, even from VW.
As for the bushes, I suppose it depends if they are worn or not, if you want to spend the money, or if you want to make an improvement.

Assuming going for the axle kits that match my chassis number is a safe bet?
Also, how do I find out my chassis number? There's 2 sets for the rear mounts but I'm unsure of which one matches my Golf... :embarrassed:

chassis number is on your mot cert or the little panel on windscreen

OK, I have my MOT certificate in front of me, I can see the VIN, assuming the chassis number is part of that? I can see where it says 1K which matches the chassis number bits on the parts I linked, assume the hyphens take place of the random letters and numbers unique to each VIN?
