Does anybody else feel the manual gearbox is a bit notchy?
Especially from 2nd to 3rd, and sometimes 3-4.
Driven loads of vws in my time and never felt gearbox like this.
Can it be a fault do you think?

Go to the dealers to check the oil level and the syncromess before it's too late. There were faulty synchro's in the second gear in mk5 and mk6s too.

If I was being hyper critical I would say this about the change from 1st to 2nd. But it's my first VW, never mind Golf so I've nothing to compare it to. It wasn't really concerning me until I read this ! :undecided:

Dont say that! 1 full day and a bit until get mine! - please don't be notchy!!! - by notchy... i assume a stick or slight jarr in movement, rather than a crunch? or just hard to get in place?

My box is one of the best I've ever owned so slick. Get it checked out.

Same here, a properly working VAG box is very precise and slick in use, must be something wrong with the OPs.

I'm afraid I have similar gearbox problems with my GTD particularly when cold.
