Here we go, got a problem with the Bora.
Most of the time it runs absolutely fine but sometimes, when cold or hot, I can't select first gear, the shifter doesn't go all the way. I have to select reverse and then back into first to get it in. All other gears seem fine.
Anyone got any ideas?

mine does this sometimes ,have you tryed putting the clutch down, try and get first gear but it will not go in so release the clutch and put it down again and it goes into first gear.

could be worn synchro's, mine is doing the same, tried adjusting the linkage, no joy.

since having my gearbox rebuilt, 1st and 2nd gears are difficult to select in the morning, once car warms up, they are fine

Try changing the gearbox oil as a first port of call.
