Probably a cheaper aftermarket solution around, it's nice to have Dynaudio but I bet the speakers are pricey compared to other retrofit options.

Link taken from e38 forum could be worth a try > not heard dynaudio but the standard speakers aren't that bad

Are the current speakers riveted in? Just wondering if they'd need drilling out to refit any replacements.

Yes they are. The focal kit gives full step by step instructions and there is also a video how too on the focal website.

I had Dynaudio in my mk6 and don't think it was any better then the standard set up most of the time using an RNS510 head unit.
The chrome speaker trim was the only worthwhile part of the installation if you ask me.
The Dynaudio on the mk7 is a different kettle of fish allegedly but I've not heard it in person.
I'd say the standard audio in the mk7 sounds pretty much as good as the Dynaudio I had on my mk6, not that it's of much interest to you but as a reference.
If I were you I'd just add a high quality aftermarket amp and subwoofer to your existing system if you're that critical of it. You could probably pick that up second hand for sensible money.
