To celebrate ticking over 4,000 miles this morning my radio has stopped bloody working coming home from work this afternoon ! I have the NavPro system and the radio suddenly went silent whilst listening and I also cannot change radio stations. Oddly all other systems still work (the Sat Nav, Menu, Bluetooth etc).
So as soon as I got home this latest issue forced me to ring Corkills Wigan and my car is booked in for 5th December. At the same time I have asked them to look at / listen to the intermittent rattle when the aircon is on (which I think is a faulty clutch in the aircon compressor looking at other forums and threads) and also my dodgy petrol filler cap which opens on the first time of asking very occasionally !!!
Watch this space !!! In the meantime I will be maintaining radio silence for a couple of weeks and whistling on my way to work !!!!

This is like reading an autobiography. I'm having all of those issues you have mentioned. The car was in today to get the fuel flap sorted. I'm getting a buzzing noise behind the dash and last week my radio cut out for a spell and has done a couple of times.

You will find it working when you have left the car switched off for a bit.
This has happened to me also on my Discover Pro Radio last week. Today the SAT NAV map froze mid 3 hour trip  but oddly the verbal directions and the distance/time left carried on with no bother and everything else was working.
I have found that if you press and hold in the power knob for a few seconds the unit will do a soft reset (You get the VW Logo and Starting Navigation Screen) and all will be working again but it does forget the last destination and goes back to the Media track that was playing when the car was first started (SD Card in use).
It sounds like a software/firmware fix required, I'm on currently on Version 0192

I had the DAB and media problems a while ago.
I haven't had it fail since, but I'm sure a firmware upgrade will be needed sometime soon to sort this out.

And surprise surprise it worked this morning ! Watch (or should I say listen to) this space ! I think if my dealer doesn't experience some of my intermittent faults I will be referring them to this forum, just in case they think I'm imagining things !

oh no.... something for me to look forward to
The MK6 GT has the RCD510 that does the same sort of thing - somedays it just wont power on
been in a number of times - never fixed after 4 years....

Not had the radio problem but my nav map has frozen and language reverts to German.
Minor niggles that I can live with.
VW customer care have no clue and the dealer has neither except they want to do a full run through and test the error logs.
I would take it in but the master technician says it has the latest software as it is new. It has 019 which is three times out of date.
Reluctant to tie this in and waste time and wondered if anyone had had a dealer software update and did it fix the issues.

What is the latest version update for the Nav Pro? Want to check this when I collect mine.
cheers!

2014 maps although that were only out this month so it will be 2013/14 which came out earlier this year.
Software is 0179 although 0200 is available.
