Title: Speed sensor fault
Post by: cas on 19 November 2013, 17:48
Hi guys new to the forum so be kind......anyway got a golf mk5 gttdi 2.0 and I've had the ABS and skiddy car light on for at least two weeks. Got it scanned last night and it came up with 00290 near side rear wheel sensor. I'm happy to replace the sensor but do you think I should replace the bearing as well just incase the abs ring has gone??
I know I'd find out more if I strip it down but just thought I'd try here first
And where's the best place to buy the parts ?    Cheers.....mark

It's more likely to be bearing rather than sensor as pick up ring corrodes

Yeah it did cross my mind as the break dust plate is well corroded
