hi I have just bought my v6 4mo and although I love the sound of my v6 I'm after something I can tune up as the v6 n/a are not very tunable which out of these would you say would be the best engine to put in my car
-
Get a audi s3 engine and box.

+1 on this  or turbo the v6
-
ok cheers I was thinking the 1.8t would be a cheaper option as been looking on the internet and seen the s4 engine is a nightmare to install,I'm not interested in turboing the v6 as it's meant to be really expensive, would I just need the engine mounts of the golf 1.8t or would I need to have them fabricated to get the engine to fit also is it worth spending 1k plus on a bam engine as my old 1.8t was an agu and was told this is the best engine just need k04 turbo as can by an early 1.8t mot failure for about 400 quid what do you think
-
Will still need s3 box.
And just need 1.8 mounts
-
ok cheers mate what about the 2.0t out of the new s3 my mate has this car and it's quick 265 standard would this go in my golf as these are going for about the same as bam engines

most engines can be made to fit its just the cost then having the wiring done to get it running  a think the s3 engine was mentioned as it already has a k04 the agu doesnt

Why not supercharge instead of Turbo? Slightly harder to find, but for a good used setup it'll cost you far less than a full 20vt setup, and you'll have better gains even on low boost with standard internals and with standard compression. You won't loose the noise either, and it'll be even better with the supercharger whine. Win win, win win...........

You can but its a complete ball ache and will cost a fortune in parts. You may as well get a 2.0t donor car. So if you saying turbo will cost too much then so will the 2.0t.

couple of ppl from here thinking of doing this now

yes I see what your saying I think it's going to have to be a 1.8t conversion as I don't have deep pockets and can get all the parts needed for about a grand

you will need more than a grand if your going for the k04 on an agu engine

I have seen a few bam engine's with all the running gear for between 1000-1500 there is a few on ebay now and agu's can be had for 250-800 for everything

if you go agu you need the k04 the manifold and bigger downpipe

1.8t with more power would get my vote.

If money doesn't matter don't only charged dubs do supercharger kits for these engines?
-
I would be different and try do the 2.7t conversion.
Good power as standard and if you really wanted to you can get the power pretty high!

would that engine not make it nose heavy as the 2.7v6 must be a heavy lump :undecided:
-
....mount it in the middle
In seriousness though You would probably just have to put harder springs on the front.
It's not gonna be much different the a r32 3.2l vr6
