I am thinking about getting these in 215/40/16 how good are these in the wet and in dry conditions as the previous owner has budgets on the front wheels and it wheels spins my 16v like I have a 300hp engine :P
-
That's what I run on my 16v - and they are very good.
-
Same as above I've been running them since summer very nice to drive with great feel for what's going on and hold on to the road well but very soft at first but as the tread wears they seem to get Abit harder as they wear fast for the first few mm and after that they don't wear as fast from experience
-
Very good choice :afro:
-
Thnks for you help I shalp have new tyres soon
-
Will be my choice next.
-
Excellent in wet and dry conditions but absolutely rubbish in any snow or ice. Id go for Hankook ventus v12's or Nankang ns2's
-
Why would the guy expect them to be any good in snow and ice? It's a summer tyre. Every summer tyre is crap in snow and ice which is the sole reason winter tyres are available.
I had T1Rs on my Lupo GTi and they are very good in the dry but would suggest something like Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric if you want good grip in the wet.
Just heading into the winter now the Toyos wouldn't be my first choice, for warm dry weather they are superb.
-
If you want to spend a bit more then Michelen Pilot Sports are great tyres too, but perhaps a bit too premium for a MK3....

You said it urself. We're heading into winter now which is exactly why I mentioned snow and ice.

I rate the goodyear eagle f1 highly!! Give me insane wet grip on the m3
But for the money the toyo t1r is one of the best. As said they can be soft and you can grain them on a track day, but great value. I use them on most cars I've had.
-
I've had falken ze914 on my car for about 20000 miles now and I cant recommend them enough!!
-
My 16v has Goodyear Eagle F1's all round and they do grip well although I find them to have quite a stiff sidewall which in turn made the ride a touch firmer and road noise increased slightly.

A good thing for a heavy bmw
