Don't think that's just springs, possibly coil overs or even air ride.

I was looking at the standard h & r which I can get for about £155, how much were yours to get imported and is the ride very forgiving?

I paid £190 delivered and I would recommend them all day long over the 'Sport' springs. Give a drop of around 45mm and the ride comfort is virtually equal to stock springs.

I wanted a nice drop while maintaining ride comfort, so I want to stay away from coilovers. the SuperSport are perfect for my requirements.

I emailed Awesome who told me these http://www.awesomegti.com/car/vw/golfmk6/h-r-45-mm-spring-kit-golf-vi-09-08-typ-1k-2wd-tiefe-low-version-inkl-dcc are the European Version of the Supersports, and each spring has the same part number as the Supersports, which I also looked up and confirmed.

Obviously easily available in the UK saves importing, however they were willing to import me the Supersports if I wanted them..

Ill prob just take there word and go with the Euro 45mm version.

Incorrect mate. the Euro ones only give 30mm drop, Supersports give 45mm and look the bomb. I wil be ordering supersports very soon.

I don't know what sort of roads you lads drive on, but I can scuff the underside of mine with VWR -20mm springs on...so -45mm would be crazy.

Really?

He told me that the part number of each spring is exactly the same as the Supersports, and even with a bit of research myself it seems this is the case?

Im 95% certain that they are for a normal Golf, Not a GTI. So for a normal Golf (excluding GTI / GTD) they would give a 45mm drop, on a GTI or GTD they will give 30mm.

Plus the Super Sports are red not black. Its up to you mate, but if you are looking for the best drop and still OEM feel the Red Super Sports are the one you want.

And in regards to the part number, Yes they are the same part number, but same part number in a different country doesnt mean its the same spring.

I would have another chat with Awesome and get them imported mate

Ok mate thanks for that!

Importing it is!

Quoted £212.50 including all import and shipping charges which is very good, as best price from USA eBay is £248.

Just a 4-5 week wait!

I had Eibach Sportlines on my car which gave a similar drop and they seriously compromised the ride quality on the oem shocks, wasn't great on B roads and they crashed about.

Can't imagine these H&R springs will be any different and unless you are on smooth A roads they will feel very bouncy.
