I'm really talking about scaffolding flatbeds. Basically a bloke who lives nearby has a scaffolding company and parks two fully loaded flatbeds overnight down my road all the time plus a small van. My road isn't the easiest to find a space to park sometimes and is made worse by these things taking up two spaces each. Recently I've also noticed some of the scaffolding poking out of the back making it dangerous to park near them.
Does anyone know if there is any law governing this? Or is it local council by-law?

As long as the vehicles are taxed, insured and aren't causing any obstructions, or parked in a dangerous position on a public road there isn't a lot you can do unfortunately.
In respect to dangerous loads then best contact your local Police traffic unit who should pay him a visit to advise him.

Bet they aren't left there overnight for much longer, eh? :grin:
Otherwise as Luke said - not a lot you can do about it. They'll be paying a lot more than you in road tax, after all!

then he will have every local pikey thinking it ok to steal in that area an next time it might be his stuff,why not just have a word with the guy saves involving other ppl as this sometimes makes things worse :smiley:

Do the vehicles look like they will be over 3.5tonne? (ie a hgv), if so he is most likely in breach of his operators license (Assuming he has one...) as that requires you to have enough off-street parking for all of your vehicles on your license. Thats where VOSA start to get interested.

Give the guy a break. He's trying so make something of himself and starting a company.
He is obviously small at the moment and might be trying to find a location to store his scaffolding and vehicles.
Hes only trying to make a buck and you want pikeys to rob him because you sometimes find it hard to park? :undecided:

Not necessarily - might have been in business for years and have decided to save on yard space by taking his wagons home.
Knowing where Wez lives it's not only the length that'll be an issue - it's a narrow road and people will struggle to get past.
I certainly wouldn't leave the key to my livelihood lying around on a back road.
