Title: suspension query
Post by: Scottymk4 on 15 November 2013, 11:36
Hey guys,

Been looking at my front suspension where it bolts into engine bay and on the passengers side I can spin the metal washer type thing (dont know official name) but on the drivers its tight... would I be right in thinking i possibly need new top mounts or could it just need the nut tightened??

Thanks for the help as I'm a complete newbie

New top mounts would be the better option mate, tightening the nut up would only mask it. Don't forget to get new nuts too

you need some way of torquing the top nuts up to whatever they need to go to but other than that it's fairly easy. I use a spark plug socket with a crows foot open end on the hex for the torque wrench then a long allen key through the spark plug socket on a ratchet to keep the strut from turning
