Hi Guys
Thinking of getting a new exhaust for my GTI as I want it to sound a bit nicer! Seems like a Cat-back is the best option as I'm not after any power gains, just sound!
Seems like Milltek are the most popular, but are their any other alternatives that are as good?
Thanks!

I'm about to get the Miltek system fitted to my own Golf GTI. If you read any magazine, forum project thread or fan site, you'll probably see that Miltek is the only way to go if you want a good sounding exhaust that is tried and tested.

Gives you an idea of the sound of the system once fitted.

have 1 custom made to suit your needs

Don't say things like that, now you've put ideas in my head when it's really not a good time to do so...
... f**k, too late.

That does sound awesome! Very tempted now

What sort of places custom make them?
The other option I've heard good things about are the BCS systems. The also sounds very good and are about the same price. Any reviews on them?

I don't know anything about BCS, but what I can tell you is the Miltek system sounds really nice, but even the non-resonated system I have isn't in-your-face loud. You notice it and at higher revs it makes a great noise, but when you settle down for motorway duties or drive gently, it disappears into the background.
If you're after more noise though, don't forget about the downpipe and sports cat options too, as these will aid a better sound too... I'm only just about to fully enjoy my new level of power and sound but I'm already looking at going stage 2 on it!
It's a bug, once it's bitten you're as good as gone...

have heard good things about the bcs system too even they would be my choice over milltek bit with any custom system you can choose how loud or quiet you want it,my full 3inch turbo back for the mk4 was cheaper than just a milltek cat back

I have a Milltek on my Mk6 GTI and a BCS ready to go on my Mk5 GT...and the BCS seems better made so far.
It was custom made to suit with regard to noise, tailpipe design etc...and Nige @ BCS couldn't have been more helpful.
I'd certainly suggest you give them a call.
