How Fast is a Golf G60?

quite fast, quite easy to tune to make it faster too!! can eat vr6's pretty easily with minor tweaks. they are 160bhp as standard...what did you want 0-60 times?

basically at some point i have to beat my boss in a race, he drives a 360 bhp volvo 850 estate, i foolishly garenteed him that i would beat him in a mk2 golf someway or another, im thinking that a G60 is a good base to start with

the most you can get out of a g60 is about 220bhp before having to do some serious work. bear in mind that most g60's are old and could go bang if you tweak them too much. but a re-build would strengthen it. if you want to beat him the best thing you could do to a mk2 is drop a tt lump in it and throw away everything apart from a seat and essentials to keep it as light as possible. 360bhp is alot though...................

Well its gotta be a T5R. So where are looking at a straight inline 5 with a Turbo and the engine i belive is Audi Quattro generation?

 Give it up while you still can imo :P

probably looking at about 10 grand to build a golf from scratch that'll out-do a T5

mk2 vr6 with stage 3 eip turbo package would just about do it :grin:

My G60 would outdo him. I've got about 170bhp. All we'd have to do is nick his keys and fill his boot up with bricks b4 the race. Easy!!
