Guys while we are on the subject of brakes. I just brought my 2009 Gti on Saturday and have noticed that the brakes start to squeak when they warm? Any ideas or remedies? Thanks

Don't think you will get a huge improvement by just changing discs and pads, it will restore the braking to what it was like when new. Stainless steel brake lines will give a firmer pedal, but will not make the braking any better. You can get some brass bushes that replace the rubber bushes, supposed to maintain the alignment of the pads, but I tried them and they did not make much difference.
If you want real improvement try using Porsche calipers, see thread below:

I've seen people putting TTRS brakes on gti's and other vw's anyone done this to their mk6?

I've ran the Porsche Boxter set up which are Brembo 4 pots and were great
MK6 has AP racing 4 pots with 330 discs which are more than up to the job
If you go TTRS make you they are TTRS discs not RS3

My brakes squeak from the rear when pulling away sometimes, but my MK4 also used to do it.
Wondering if its a caliper sticking slightly.. :/
