While driving the temp gauge went all the way up so I pulled over and let it cool down, scanned it and got 17705 and 18010 it only overheats while driving not when stationary.
It's 2002 1.8t aum and standard not mapped the fans are working
Any ideas?

Yeah, water pumps and thermostats seem to be popping up on a daily basis. I guess it's people slacking with maintenance as the cars get older and lose value.

Ive never seen a 1.8t stat seize shut, They tend to get stuck open.
