My problem is still there, car loses power and chugs like f**k. And you can also feel the whole car juddering. I've changed the spark plugs and it's helped a little bit but it still comes back every now and then.
I've been told to check the coil packs and been looking online and can't seem to find Bosch ones, do Bosch even do coil packs. The engine is agu.
If you don't think it is the coil packs, what do you suggest

As I've put an s2000 filter on, I've obviously removed my air box. So I've cable tied the ignition amp to the bolt hole for the air box towards the back of the engine bay. Does this have to be attached to the air box to stop air from flowing around its metal plate on the back, sound bizarre but I can't think why it would be faulty otherwise or are they prone to f**king up ?

Have you checked to see if you are eligible for free coilpacks from VW under the recall?
-
Have you checked the coil packs?
Start the engine and remove the coil pack harness from the coil pack itself, the engine note will drop, if it doesn't said coil pack is buggered. repeat on all until you find the dead one
-
I've rang vw and they've told me that there wasn't a recall on my particular vin .
I've also disconnected the wires from the packs individually when the engine is running and they've all made a noise change.
Why do the parts on golfs have to be so expensive. Euro car are asking £90 for the ignition amplifier, and they reckon the list price is £240. Robbing f**k*rs
-
if the noise changed it wont be the coil packs

its an agu so they usually are bullet proof
