Evening all,
The engine warning light appeared on my dashboard on Saturday after starting accompanied by a lumpy idle. The car drove normally and the light disappeared after repeated starts. I have just fitted a bluefin so was concerned that this was something to do with it. Anyway the light reappeared again tonight and I used the bluefin to find the fault code - p2015 manifold intake flap. I've cleared the fault code and the light has stayed off. Do you think this is related to the bluefin or is just coincidence? The car is out of warranty so do you think vw will cover the cost to replace the manifold? Will the fact I have a bluefin fitted affect a goodwill payment from vw?
I love the car but it has been so unreliable:
New water pump
New turbo
New turbo intake pipe
New brake servo
Any advice gratefully received!

I have heard of this fault been more common after a remap but its not caused by it.
This is a known fault and been talked about a few times on here.
I would not mension the bluefin if you are after a good will payment and getting it fixed at the stealers.
You definitely have been very unlucky as you have had all but 3 of the common issues with these cars.

Wow that is a lot of things to go wrong, have you had it from new or were you a second owner?
-
I was the 2nd owner but the car was in immaculate condition.
I've now booked the car in to vw. Just out of interest, i've cleared the fault code and the light is off but will the dealer still be able to see the previous fault code or will it have been wiped off?

Sounds like the previous owner ragged it to bits, or just hammered the Turbo.
Did you save the fault code before wiping? if not it may be gone as my VAGCOM doesnt see it when they have been wiped.
-
To be fair the turbo was replaced due to an oil leak which actually turned out to be the turbo inlet pipe leaking. All uner warranty so wasn't bothered at the time.
Hopefully the light will come back on and I'll just leave it.

Mine did the same when I installed the bluefin, same code I reset it but it came back, new inlet manifold required, think they quoted about £670 but it was fixed under warranty.
-
Wife is blaming it on the Bluefin!
-
I thought it was to blame at first, really crap design when you see it, it's only the flap but you have to replace all of it.

yeah it has nothing to do with Bluefin, just poor design like Richard said

Thanks for the info above. I've now gone back to the standard map and the warning light has still come on. Car is booked in a week on Monday. Fingers crossed that vw help with the cost.

Thought it was worth posting an update on this. As suspected a new inlet manifold was required. Vw paid for the part £300 and i paid for the labour £370 .
Car is now back to running normally and i have added my Bluefin again successfully. I've noticed that over the past week my mpg has also improved (could be Bluefin or the inlet manifold).
Just got to source some winter wheels and tyres now to save my Monza shadows from all the salt.

I have had the dreaded 2015 fault code come up after installing the Bluefin on Tuesday along with the yellow exhaust system fault light on the dash. Apparently, as mentioned earlier, Bluefin (or any other map for that matter) just highlights the inlet manifold problem that you already have.
Anyway, I've used the Bluefin to get rid of the fault code and the yellow light on the dash. Bearing in mind the £600 plus cost to replace the inlet manifold, how long could/should I wait before having it sorted. Or could/should I leave it altogether? The car is a bit lumpy on cold start but once warmed up it is fine and runs fine.
I am inclined to leave it but would like someone with more technical nouse to reassure me that I am not ruining the car. Any advice would be appreciated.
