Title: Will these Wheels fit my MK7 GTi without any problems.
Post by: smudger170 on 04 November 2013, 13:45
Hi
Looking at some spare Audi BBS CH 18" similar to edition 30 wheels from a friend;
The Aspect Ratio:
40
Number of Studs:
5
Tyre Width:
225
Rim Width:
7.5J
Stud Diameter:
112
Offset:
54
Will these be OK do you think? They are the same size and width, just think the offset is slightly different!!!
Any help would be much appreciated.

Assuming they would clear the brakes etc, they might sit slightly further in the arches but I'm sure that a set of spacers could be added to bring them back out again.

That said, the best way is to whack 'em on and see what they're like!

OK,
Is the offset on the Standard Austin 18" wheels ET51???? So that would mean 3mm difference?

They may well fit... but the change in offset could well change the handling (you may be able to address that, to an extent with spacers)...

What are you trying to achieve with the change?

If I were you I would be informing my insurance company, you may find them unwilling to pay out if you have an accident and haven't told them...

That sounds like the BBS 18" alloys fitted to the previous generation Audi A3.

As above, they'll fit ok but will look a bit rubbish without spacers.

From memory the Austins are ET49

The Austins are ET49? They decided to change from ET51? The mkv and kmvi were 51ers I think... Do you remember the ET of the Brooklyns?
