Title: Cover Art using iPod on basic Discover Nav System?
Post by: steve17 on 03 November 2013, 18:01
I'm sure I've read somewhere that the basic DNS doesn't show album artwork when used with an iPod but I can't find the post. Is this correct or is there a work around?

Failing that I guess I have plenty of time to sort it out on an SD card..

You need to make sure you have the mdi iPod cable with the red collar. The blue one will not show album art.

Hi guys,

Can someone tell me if I still have to have all my album artwork in 400x400 resolution when playing music though an ipod?

Thanks,

I can also confirm the new iPhone 5 lightning connector displays album art!

when dumping stuff onto an sd card will it still read aac files or will i need to convert them?

even my current alfa reads aac from a usb stick

or could I get a cable for usb as well?

just concerned my ancient iPod classic will not be compatible!

I think you don't need to do anything with iPod music with regards to album art. But if your using a SD card you will need to ensure album are doesn't exceed 400x400.

I haven't tried a iPod classic but I do have an original iPod mini. The music plays but it does not show artist name etc and you cant select music on it.

That could be pretty annoying if the info doesn't show up when using an ipod! Works in pretty much every other car!

I was using an iPod Classic with a 30-pin MDI connector until last week, and it worked fine with tracks; albums etc., but no album artwork. I've since changed to a 7th gen nano with Lightning connector that shows artwork.

Hi. Thanks for your response. I guess I will either have to buy some large SD cards or a new ipod. Although I'm not sure these touch ones will be big enough for my collection.
