Title: Good discount?
Post by: ROO1 on 03 November 2013, 16:27
The mrs is thinking about swooping her High Up. Pricin up a 3dr GTI manual with PP. Been offered 10% off list. Is this competitive?

I would say yes from the dealer. I did a few quotes on car wow and the best discount I got was 2.5K.

Dealers only offered me £500 to start before haggling began and know other people on here have been getting about 7 - 10%. A few exceptions obviously as I think the more you spec it the more discount they can work with.

10% is pretty competitive, not the best, but healthy. However you can get a bit more. Try Drive the Deal for a starters.

Depends on your spec because that's where the margin comes from. If you're only adding on PP then I'd say 10% would be hard to beat.

You will notice on drive the deal as you spec fewer optional extras, the discount goes down sharply.
