 Hi guys & gals been watching & reading on this site for quite a few months now and starting to get worried about the lack of positive feedback on your new toys, my GTi is due in the next week or two so would be good to have a topic that is purely on the better aspects of the new golf, or should I have ordered something French!

There's a lot of praise overall as well as the moans on small issues - I don't think you'll find anyone who says their GTI/GTD is crap.
Never buy French, not new anyway - the depreciation will put you in a bad mood when you trade it in.
Asides from niggles and long waits, everything else makes you know you made the right decision when you finally get one. Lots of standard equipment you'd normally expect to spend thousands speccing, clever design, great interior quality and appearance, good performance with class leading handling which closes the gap between it and a rival with a little more PS but seeing it going to waste on poor handling, huge amount of customisation on the settings, excellent safety systems which help keep the insurance costs down.

Read the stickied new arrivals thread. Lots of positive feedback there
Most frustration has been with the ordering process but once your baby arrives all is forgotten

That's sadly the nature of forums. Can be fairly negative because some people just want to mank and moan.
Picked car up 3 weeks ago, done 2400 miles in it and it is simply fantastic.
Easily the best car I have owned.
You're gonna love it.
