Title: 16v shortage?
Post by: thai-wronghorse on 02 November 2013, 10:11
Just been having a mooch around the tinterwebzs to see what i should be selling my car for and there doesn't seem to be many valvers up for sale at the moment, are the numbers really diminishing that much or are people hanging onto them now and just getting shot of their breathless 8v's and guzzling Vr6's?

you think 16v are hard, I keep looking at anniversary's and they are all crazy priced or rot boxes! I should put mine up for £2000 as that's seems the average price for one in the condition of mine

and all mk3's seem to be getting harder to find! (solid one's are super rare! I must say that excludes all the e38 "priced" one's)

Which reminds me, how do you sell on E38 as I can't seem to fathom it out. Do you need a certain amount of posts first?

Mine is extremely solid. Glad I decided not to sell

I looked at an anni recently, it was mint on top but I could put my hand through the hole in the front o/s and n/s jacking points.
Carpet was wet in both front footwells and could be seen from underneath
How it got an mot is beyond me...
Guy wanted £1800 for it

Mine was solid underneath, pretty low miles for its age and I had hardly any interest priced at £750 (only payed £550 myself with full service) ended getting a swap for a cupra and jumped at it

I notice this a lot, I bought mine on autotrader and didn't find out it was a 16v until I phoned him and quizzed him about the badging and engine bay
