Does anyone know where I could source the floor pans for a mk3 5dr golf as mine are rotten and need welding.
-
a good welder should be able to sort plates out as even vw don't offer floor pans now!
-
Would I be right in assuming the drainage bungs have rotted out?
-
Save yourself time. Scrap it and buy another Mint MK3. You will thank me one day :smug:
-
Its only sheet metal. Cut rust out and replace. Easy job.

Does anyone know why mk3 parts are much harder to get hold of compare to other golfs

mk1 & 2's have a big following and are in demand, The mk4 is still within the 10 year parts agreement and the mk3 is neither. they are still a bit unloved but prices seem to be going upwards and that can only mean more demand for parts.
I think someone should/will open a mk3 spares place  :lipsrsealed:

You can buy pattern panels for the Mk3, floor pans are about £18+vat iirc
Plate and a Mig will sort out rotten bungs
