Cut a long story short ecp sell a inner and outer gasket for £21 I swear ive read somewhere you need to put silicone gasket stuff on the outer one and no one mentions an actual gasket . Why would I need that if such a thing exists ?
-
If your replacing them get them only fron vw, they only cost around £23 for both and the sealent is on the left hand side of the engine and you only need a tiny bit however i didnt need it
-
Nice one mate cheers for that ive wanted to paint it for ages so nows the time as its going to be off anyway !
-
the old silicone will be on the top left corner, ensure you remove it.
And when doing your rocker back up tighten each bolt a tiny bt and a time so you dont distort the rubber, follow a star shape and when you fully tighten up ensure its 10 newtons.
-
I didn't need any sealand with mine either.
-
sure your not confusing the sealant with the sump? :lipsrsealed:

100% nope ive read a couple of threads saying to use a liquid gasket.... I think
