Title: MK2 to MK3 Rocker Cover
Post by: V8Rumble on 29 October 2013, 19:05
Hi
My son has asked me to ask if MK 3 rocker covers fit the 8v Mk2 GTi engine and if so does he need the cambelt cover to keep the same profile

They will fit with some minor fettling. You will need to install longer studs in the head along with the revised rubber rocker cover gasket. If you ask for a rocker cover gasket at vw they'll sell you the later gasket with the studs as a kit.

Breather pipe may need some tweeking along with some moving of the isv. You will need the 2.0 8v cambelt cover.
