Title: turbo flutter, just started out the blue??????
Post by: cooki on 27 October 2013, 13:41
Ive had a forge split r fitted for about a year on full recirc mode and has been fine nice whoooosh when I back off the throttle as it should do, but the last few days instead of the usual whoosh im getting full on chatyer/flutter now.

Any ideas?
Ive fully greased the valve/spring up and messed with the tention settings as per forge website but still full chatter.

Could it be down to my n249 or n75 valve neeing faulty????

Personally i would swap that split r for this http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=260301&product=FMCL007P yours being an aum engine would be better with a closed loop valve fitted :afro:

I had this issue after I changed from hybrid set up to fully recirculating and also after I put in a new TIP. Just had to adjust the tension took a couple of attempts after test drives but its fine now all good!

Have you fitted anything or changed anything recently?

i have recently had some flutter from my 007p, also some jerking / surge when lifting off but only since fitting the E05 turbo. It had me scratching my head for ages, thinking it could be the engine mounts etc.
I fitted a blue spring last night to see if that has cured it, I haven't been on a "proper" drive to test it yet but it now seems fine on casual driving.
but as stated by northeast gti, your engine would be better suited to the fully recirculating 007p.

This morning I have fitted my OEM recirc valve and I have been on a proper run and have noticed that the car is onlu boosting to 3-4 psi. No visible boost leak.
Any help appreciated.

how much boost was it running with the forge dv?
it probably knackered the OEM one, bin it!
it could be a number of things, if youre in limp mode it will run at actuator pressure so check for codes.
check the n75 is plugged in??

Oem recirc was fine b4 I fitted forge and forge has been fine for a good year so thinking its something else not the recirc valves.
It was boosting to a normal healthy 7 ish psi.
Its not in limp mode its just not boosting properly.
N75 valve is plugged in but im guessing it could be faulty??
I havnt got a vagcom to hand so guessing and doing it blind at the moment

ok. I`d suggest putting the forge unit back on, adjust it to fully recirc and go from there.
what vac line are you using to go to the DV? if it`s the old rubber one change it to silicone.

Ive already put the forge on fully recirc mate and re greased the spring an so on as per the forge website.
Im also already using upgraded silicone tubing for the vac line.

I would stick with the forge for now, perhaps fit a stronger spring?.
have you looked at the condition of the piston?
I would do the n249 bypass anyway! http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=113646.0

I can't see both of my DV being faulty at the same time,
Still no further with this, still fluttering away,
Still only boosting to around 3/4 psi,

The n249 bypass is way out of my technical abilities,
Guessing a smoke test could be next to look for boost leaks??

take it to someone to look at, it`s hard to diagnose your problem over the internet. it needs to be seen in the flesh!
