Title: Mk 4 Golf Problems

Hey guys, I was wondering if you could help me out with a problem my brother is having with his MK 4 golf. It's usually perfectly working, he bought it last month and it worked fine but recently after he goes for short journeys, when he's turned the engine off and goes to turn it back on again it just ticks over but won't start, it doesn't do this every time he starts the car, it will only do it sometimes so I was just wondering if any of you guys knew something about this, many thanks!

Likely to be coolant temp sensor, it should throw up a fault code if you can get it scanned?
