Title: What do you have on your MFD?
Post by: matchboy on 25 October 2013, 10:08
Just out of interest, was wondering what you guys have your MFD display set to on a day to day basis?  Unless using the nav or telephone which changes the display automatically, I have mine set to 'Average Consumption' - until the petrol gauge hits just under a quarter and then I turn it onto 'Range'

Always have mine on either telephone or speed. I absolutely hate looking at my consumption or range unless i have to. Anything to do with fuel consumption just annoys me

The speedometer dial graphics are a little cluttered, so I like digital speedo as it lets me know if the car in front is holding me up a little when using adaptive cruise control.

In my Scirocco I have Digital Speed although I would really like a large gear display for when I am playing ;-)

That is a really good idea! Wonder if it is something that can be configured using VAG-COM?

Mines yet to be born yet too, but know that when it does, I'll have it set on the speedometer. My current drive only has a digital speedometer (quite big on the dash) and I find it dead useful, esp when using cruise control.

Current car also displays a seat belt indicator when you first switch the engine on for about 30secs. I find this useful too so I check everyone is buckled up, esp the kids. Does the GTi have same facility?

Digital speedo for me to, occasionally flipping to average consumption for a check, ten back to Digital speedo.

I must be weird then as I'm the only one who has it on average consumption

Or maybe I sit in so much poxy traffic most of the time the digital speedo wouldn't read over 27 most of the time!

I nearly always leave it on the Nav / Compass screen.

In my 6 and Passat they are mostly on Range, unless my wife has been driving, then it's on Audio.

I'm always on average consumption but there's not many other options on the mark V other than range. Hurry up MKVII GTD!! It will still be average then I'm sure!

Audio/Average consumption, flicking over to oil temp occasionally (early on in my journey) before I’ll put my foot down.

MFD is mostly set to average consumption. I'm a tight arse and like to know what I'm saving whilst driving conservatively :smug:

Hi all , a question here. I collected my GTD today, and I cannot get a digital speedo up at all?

on my mk6 I always had it on the journey time. I love to know exactly how long it took me to do a particular run as I try out different routes to the same destination. London provides ample opportunity for experimentation with side roads so I hope the mk7 can save more than 2 at a time so I can cycle through them all to compare different runs.

Just read what I wrote. How sad do I sound...but keeps the commute vaguely interesting.
