This is goodbye, the Anni sold tues night for £550, the young lad that bought it strips and repairs tractors for a hobby so hes going to spend the time getting the anni sorted so hopefully see it again!
Big thanks to everyone who helped me out with questions, ive learnt alot about mk3's (and rust) and the forum has been a great knowledge base for me.
Special thanks to Screech16v for being a general top bloke, giving advice and giving away free power steering pump to help a fellow dubber and spending the time fitting my chipped ECU on his drive the day before GTI Inters 1/4 mile, hes a credit to this forum.

What you after next??
-
going to see a couple of mk4 GT TDI's this weekend, so another black golf, half price tax, insurance, much cheaper fuel costs and same BHP and no rust. Cheeky remap, alloys, coilovers, i'll be back in business!!!

Could have been a lot worse tbh ,at least it has tuning potential,i don't know seats very well ,is it an oil burner?
-
No mate it's a 1.8 20v turbo auq engine, so a Spanish mk4 golf basically, 180bhp, 93k miles, it's immaculate and drives like new.
all the mk4 gttdi's I wanted to go and see let me down and a mate of mine who's just had a kid and is inheriting an Audi estate said he would sell me this for a lot less than its worth, he's had it for 9 years and I know it's been looked after so went for it.
It's not exactly what I wanted but the more I drive it the more i like it, think its a keeper now, i loved my golf but the rust and knowing it was too much to fix was getting me down. Looking forward to some drag racing in this, plenty of tuneability!!! Remap first!

Oh yes!

I really like Leons so it gets a thumbs up from me. I contemplated buying one for the best part of this year but I need a derv estate now. Wish they did a wagon version. :undecided:
-
Ahh another one, this is the route I went down aswell, very good cars and nice to drive, easy to work on too and look the best out of all the other cars using this platform, good choice
-
Yeah I like them cars

Cheers guys, wasn't expecting that! Thought i'd get a hammering for buying a none golf. I was a bit dubious about getting a none Vw, but under the body its all golf really. I think to myself i should have had another golf cus i love em and know exactly what things i would want to do to mod them and how i want them to look, but sometimes i catch an angle of the seat and think it looks the balearics, even better than the golf.
Thinking of things i wouldn't mind doing to it just to timp it up a bit and thought some german plates to start with, then i realised, its not german. Going to have to start thinking Seat not VW, weird!!!

Some nice wheels and slap with the lowering stick and these look sweet.

Least it isn't bright bloody yellow
-
good call mate like it :)

I have to say I've considered flicking the Mk3 and picking up one of the MK1 Leon's too....perhaps a Cupra or Cupra R. I like them, far more than a MK4 golf....good choice I reckon
