Title: Boot locking problem
Post by: scoobiedoo on 24 October 2013, 13:43
Hi all, what happens is that the central locking doesn't
Pull the mechanism up straight when unlocking
I'm guessing a part is worn or come off
Any ideas???

Yes, you need a new central locking mechanism

Just on the boot? It's common for the internals of the boot latch to fail, usually because the rear windscreen washer has leaked.

There's no leaking from the rear washer it just stopped returning
To under the handle piece. How much would the mechanism  be
From a dealer does anybody know? Also part number for it?

T might be worth checking the wiring loom to the top right of the boot lid also. Over time they break. If it does not lock or unlock on the central locking it could be this. Normally the boot latch not working causes the boot light to not work.

Central locking moves it but doesn't move it back under the handle piece
If that makes sense??

Check the latch has not disconnected inside then.
