Title: Interior Swaps
Post by: coopersport1 on 23 October 2013, 11:53
Hi all, new to the forum but been trawling for info for a while now.
Anyway after a very long search I've finally found myself a nice shadow blue Mk5 Gti, having been through several Mk2s and 3s.
Anyway I'm not surprised to see that they still suffer from drivers seat bolster wear! Mines not bad at all but I couldn't turn this one down even though it didn't have the leather Recaros I was after.

Anyway question is, my seats are standard non-electric cloth items, I'd like to buy a 2nd hand leather interior for it, but most have electric adjustment. Is the loom for hooking into this in place on all cars? or would I need extra electrical looms to make it all work properly?

Any advice experiences much appreciated

Cheers
Si

The loom won't be in place, but I'm pretty sure they only need power to them as the switches and motors are all part of the seat.

You will need a loom and switches if they are heated. Kufatec will have what you need.

you will also need the centre console unit to adjust the heat setting on each seat.
