Just wondering if anyone else can shed some light on the problem i am having, getting the O/S/R door open.
I've searched with no joy. I found a great thread by richandhazel, explaining how to get the door card and inner card off, but I'm now stuck with a hollow, but still shut door.
Does anyone know if there is a way to release the lock, or do i have to smash it to pieces, risking damage to bodywork?
Any help would be appreciated.

I remember a former VW tech writing somewhere (sorry if it was you, I'd credit you if I could remember were I read it!).
That holding the exterior door handle in the open position whilst repeated hitting the area where the lock barrel would be in a front door, with the base of your fist, can open the door.
The idea being that it jars any dry joints in the module into briefly making contact and working the mechanism. Obviously the module and window motor would have to be wired up, so power is getting to the module. Might be worth a go?

I have tried it all, honestly. That's all i have been doing the last two days, is trying to find details on how to go about getting the door open.
Zilch so far.

can you take the lock module to bits from inside?

Sounds like it might be time to beast the sh*t out of it with a cold chisel and a hammer! You probably have more patience than me though.

I'm thinking the same thing to be honest. I can't see any way to get the latch manually forced open.
Still open to suggestions though!
