My car breaks are not very responsive it breaks well but I have to press the pedal all the way to the floor.
I have bled the brakes thoroughly pumping in 2.5 liters of fresh dot 4 fluid whilst cleaning out the lines (the liquid that came out was black and the brakes I think were never bled in the15 years)but it remained the same.
My question is is this normal on a golf mk3? I v had the car for a year now and I always remember them this way,If I was positive that its the master cylinder (like I said the brake fluid was literally black is there damage?) I would spend the 150 euro and buy a new one,but for 150 euro its a risk cause the brakes work just not like other cars I v driven?!

how are you bleeding it ?.Are you using a pressure system like the Gunson one here :- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gunson-EEZIBLEED-Brake-Clutch-fluid-bleed-hydraulic-bleeding-kit-/130759082496?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item1e71d94200
Start at left rear, then right rear, then left front then right front.Your servo may also be on it's way out.If pedal is going all the way to the floor then you have a problem somewhere but pedal has always been quite a little low on all the golfs iv'e owned.
150 euros seems very expensive for an m/c.Can you not get one from Ebay posted to you :-
