Title: Dump valve advice
Post by: A5H on 20 October 2013, 20:12
So.... I have just got a 2000 MK4 Golf 1.8T

I have been reading up on fitting a dump valve, ive read all the stickys etc

Now my car is 2000 on a W and been reading some have problems even with the splitter valve by Forge?

Im looking at a second hand dump valve on ebay... Should i risk the buy and hope my car will be fine or not?

Do i need to buy anything other than the dump valve and some 4mm replacement hose?

Do any of you have a dump valve on your 2000 MK4 Turbo?

Thanks for looking in

What do you mean proper??
It's not very hard to get a 1.8t to a suitable power to beat standard stis etc
I beat a p1 in mine and arn't they one of the quicker scoobs?

Yeah I'm sure

The p1 is only 280bhp 252lbft and weighs 1750kg and the extra transmission loss of 4wd

Whereas a golf with 250bhp and 310lbft weighing 1400kg......

Win for the golf

The mk4 platform can handle well it just takes work!
All you have to do is look at prawns a3, on a recent track day he was keeping with a track spec scooby.
And now mine has the cage in and is stripped it handle quite nice
