Has anyone out there seen any S reg Mk3 Golf hatchbacks?
The estate carried on until W reg I believe so no big deal but anything later than an R in the hatch is pretty rare.
I currently have an S reg VR6 for sale which you may be interested in guys, full info here
http://www.autometrixinfo.u-net.com/volkswizard/carsforsale/s877xoe.htm
PS this is not an advert!

OY bugger off! Use Exchange & Mart or bleedin Auto Trader.
this is not an ad my arse!
I knew this would happen.
-
is an interesting car tho.. how come the doors arent leather?
-
Cause they would flap around in the wind, metals better.
-
cheeky :P
i meant the door arm rests.. on my car thats leather.. looks like cloth in the pics
-
You're not insinuating Victor Kyam has a 'wrong un' on his forecourt are you?
I did notice it had the South African anti car jacking flame throwers fitted though.
Bizarre
-
haha naww...
-
Well Glen, you complained about this forum being boring so I thought you may appreciate some thread that didn't feature "it aint a proper GTI anyway" ;)
Anyway I dont expect anyone here to buy it, it's too expensive!
No leather on door cards is part of the South African spec Overseer, I think there is a limit to how much hot black leather they can handle in 40 degrees heat!
The leather is also not heated, and I have checked, the seats don't have heater elements so they are factory.
I've just bought the plate S28 VRG which will go with the car subject to negotiation.
The best bit is that unlike the later UK VR6's which were softened up, this one can handle at least as good as a GTI and goes like a good GTI should do, unlike an 8v (ooops sorrry!) ::)
-
Wahey!
Yes it is expensive isnt it, now who was it who said his cars were'nt over priced ???
I cant remember now has anybody been on here recently hawkin' his car lot?
-
depends on the mileage... which isnt listed
-
Mileage is listed on the site and is always accurate.
It's done 39k miles with FVWSH, 2 owners.
Considering I sold a 43k UK 98/R VR6 in black with cloth, FVWSH, demo + lady owner and a/c for ?7490 (the full asking price) within 3 days to a Glaswegian (I am in Bham), I'd say that it was competitively priced actually, Scotsmen aren't known for wasting their cash.
The last owner paid ?10k for it just 2 years and not many miles ago.
You get what you pay for unless you can get a genuine bargain but these are rare;
A friend just bought from a dealer a 96/P VR6 Highline in Black, 3 dr. 75k miles with FSH. He paid ?5k which is probably cheap to people on this list. He's already spent ?850 on sorting it out and it still has really bad paint on os rear 1/4 panel, os door, front bumper and something like filler jutting out of a sill. Let me point out I was on holiday when he bought it so had nothing to do with!
-
Nah 7 and a half is dear, I saw a 48,00 mile highline with climatronic on the Auto Trader for less than six and a half about three months ago. But if you can get em to pay that much then fair play, I can think of worse cars to spend that sort of money on.
-
^ like I'd happily sell u mine for 7.5k ::)
hehe
-

what like French cars?
-
Funny u should say that VR6, u must have been reading my mind!
How about a Megane? they're pretty gay arent they?
-
Especially the yellow convertable things, very gay
-
Those boys posting on chat about french cars are gay for sure ;)
-
Glen, I think you're missing my point.
Cars on Autotrader may seem attractive in print but when you go see them they are often not what you imagined.
There aren't many VR6's out there you can buy from a dealer and then with no work display at a show and mine was one of those - not one mark on the BBS wheels which had not been refurbished, 2 of the original Dunlops still on the back.
There was a Chili Red 3 door without air or leather on the show scene over the last few years, done about 50k on an N reg and he wanted ?7500 - but it was like new.
If you don't want that kind of quality then fine, to be honest owning a car like that is a PITA as you have to be careful where you park all the time and I wouldn't dare put my mountain bike in the back!
-
No mate really I do get it, Im just raggin' you for coming on here going This is not an advert . . but, I gotta VR6 for sale its only 7,500 quid honest its mint look its on me carlot website etc etc etc.
hee hee ;D
-
I bought my M reg VR6 a year and half ago for ?5500, it had full history and 58k on the clock, very tidy motor. What do you think of that Mr.Volkswizard? ;)
-
He will probably think that there will be something wrong with it as only the Volkswizard is capable of scouring the country nay globe (he wears a cape and his pants over his trousers you know) for VW Golf's. Apparantly cars out of The Autotrader are often not what you imagined? what does that mean you turn up to look at a Golf and its a Golf Club? We will have to ask the Volkswizard to stare hard into his steaming couldron of VW knowledge for the answer to that one. Or maybe the Merlin the Wizard is getting cryptic with us mere mortals! :-\
-
I love the volkswizard :-* :-* :-*
-
Glen, if you go see cars advertised in Autotrader, very often the advert only says the good things and not the bad things so the ad makes the car sound appealing but you have to go see to make a decision.
After all an advert isn't going to say 'stuffed up the back by a truck 3 years ago' and a seller may honestly not be aware.
Is that clear enough or shall I draw a picture?
-
Merlin I'm taking the p*ss
But you could draw me a picture please, can you draw a dragon fighting a Lion that'll be nice thank you. :-*
-
Whatever.
You've done one good thing anyway, confirmed my suspicion about the quality of discussions on some internet forums...

Whats that? confirmed your suspicion that you have no sense of humour nor the ability to enter into the 'banter' of this site, this is after all (I think) what makes this site special, you wanna be serious take your carlot and try and hawk it on honestjohn and see what they have to say, or just join in, that is if you're up to it ???

The top of the dash where the heater is looks SOOO much different to my GTI 8v. Probably cos of the extra airbag or summet... is there 2 speakers on there? its not as deep as mine....
-
the dash looks just like my mk3 16v? :)
