Hi guys
Currently having a discussion (argument) with my dealer about my headlights fogging up when damp/raining. First noticed when I washed the car but now the weather has turned I now see they get condensation on the inside of the units when I drive in the wet. To me this is unacceptable but they seem adamant it happens and should go after 20mins when the lights are on.

My opinion is that this is common with Xenon headlights especially in spring and autumn because of the temperature and humidity swings.
These headlight enclosures are not airtight so air and moisture get in and out which causes the temporary condensation...

Put a couple of packs of silica gel in them. You can buy a pack with quite a few in them from ebay. Much better than wasting time going backwards and forwards to the dealer and risk them doing any damage if they decide to change the lights.

My mk6 has the LED fairy lights and they sometimes fog up slightly.I was concerned at first but apparently it's normal.

Normal with Xenon or halogen.
